Google Ads Outage
California: Numerous Google Ads campaigns were completely shut down after March 1, 2025, leading to total service interruptions. This ongoing two-day problem left all marketers using Google Ads extremely worried about their business expansion.
The Google Ads Forum was filled with running advertisements reporting the service interruption while advertisers attempted to solve their campaign delivery failures. Marketers became more irritated by Google’s lack of communication during the weekend.
What Happened?
Multiple advertisers recorded the onset of the issue at the beginning of Saturday, March 1, when they noticed their advertisements were not delivering the result. The running campaigns did not show any impression or click activity. The problems impacted various accounts, but the specific number of affected platforms remained unidentified.
Various industry experts presented their explanations about the potential reasons. Based on the observation of Navah Hopkins, a digital marketing strategist, believed that the problem possibly stemmed from the March deprecation of Enhanced CPC (eCPC). Some industry experts believed Google Business Profile accounts linked to Google Ads might have contributed to the issue. Google failed to reveal the reason for the issue.
Google’s Response
Google announced the problem in a public announcement at 1:00 AM ET on March 3rd. The company officially confirmed it was checking reports about Google Ads-related issues. Google Ads remains accessible to its affected customers, who encounter errors, slow loading times, and unexpected system responses. A subset of Google Ads customers did not receive service starting on March 1st, 2025.
Google announced the problem resolution at 4:18 AM ET before apologizing for the service disruption. The company did not release particular information regarding the root cause of the interruption.
Why it Matters?
Disrupting Google Ads service for any length can trigger substantial monetary losses for dependent advertisers. Since the issue was resolved, the instance showed why companies should promote their products across multiple networks to prevent financial losses from platform outages.
